DECISION MAKING &
INNER SELF CONFIDENCE
TEAM CHEMISTRY &
Academics are the most important aspect. You may love the sport, but playing professional baseball
should not be a career goal. You must prepare yourself for other aspects of life. You will find academic success through learned skills; time
management, researching and problem solving, prioritization and studying. #studentathlete “Decide. Commit. Succeed”
Train More Play Less (TMPL) seeks to develop the scholar athletes, distinguished
players, and upstanding young adults. At every level, our directors and coaches emphasize skill, tactical awareness, confidence,
determination, sportsmanship, team play, character development, and academic excellence. The lessons learned through the Train More Play
Less Organization serve our athletes in all aspects of their future lives.
Our coaching staff highlights the value of personal ownership over one’s development. Players
will own their successes and mistakes, and commit to improving their skills – both during practice and on their own time. The top players grind
during team training and also make an effort to work individually. With greater skill comes greater consistency and performance, which leads to
greater confidence. The net result of this commitment and effort is incredible mental strength.
The Head Coaching Staff eventually decides what system best fits the abilities and style of the players and
current teams. A baseline is established throughout the TMPL organizations and all teams, though at different levels will be taught the same
offensive and defensive systems. Every player is taught to know their role and everyone else’s role on the field – cut-offs, bunt defense, pick
plays, etc. Training in areas like reading the game, understanding the situation, bunt coverage, individual and team principles, and offensive
tactics is crucial to proper development.
As a Train More Play Less organization, we are committed to earning and keeping a reputation for
fundamentally sound baseball. Individual technique and skill will be emphasized in all environments, from training sessions to games. Our
coaching staff is equipped and trained to develop their players for the appropriate next phase of their technical development.
Teams that grind together respect each other and are far more successful, and enjoyable,
than teams that simply play with each other. Often, it is the “Synergy” that allows a team to dig deep and propel a team past their competition.
Team chemistry is built through a number of factors, the Train More Play Less staff is well versed in building and protecting team chemistry.
